For young leaners try "Please pass me one piece of square red paper that is next to yellow scissors".

The Tanabata Festival, also known as the "Star Festival," is celebrated in Japan on July 7th each year. It originates from a Chinese legend about the celestial lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi, represented by the stars Vega and Altair. According to the legend, these lovers are separated by the Milky Way and can only meet once a year on Tanabata. During the festival, people write wishes on colorful strips of paper (tanzaku) and hang them on bamboo branches, hoping their wishes will come true. The festival includes decorations, parades, and various festivities across Japan.
